Lunch with the Rushes - Ben, Karah, and Beau

Today was very exciting! we met Ben, Karah, and Beau for lunch in Covington while they were passing through headed back to Florida. Beau is growing so much but I have an updated photo of Ben and Robert with their two spitting images Beau and Matthew. The above picture proves it. Mr. Ken and Mrs. Ann met us there as well which have known Ben and Robert since they were babies. All four of the boys are growing, some faster than others! LOL! We miss you guys and can't wait to see you again in a couple of months. :-)

Matthew's First Zephyr's Game

Last Sunday afternoon, May 17th, we decided to try our hand at bringing Matthew to his first real baseball game. We were totally not expecting to last the whole game. I expected him to get bored and ready to go by the fourth inning. We made it all the way through even with a 20 minute rain delay! We had a blast and he did too! He even made two new friends.

Dad, do we get to run down there?

Boudreau was scary at first but turned out to be very cool as he sat with Matt for an extended amount of time!

YAY!!! The rain is over!!!!

Chloe is one cute rodent!

We had a great time and are planning more games.

Easter / Air Show

This Easter we actually had to wait for Matthew to wake up at a late 9:15 in the am and then talk him to seeing what the Easter bunny brought to him. Boy, I know he will eventually get into it and he really enjoys his toys cause our bunny doesn't like candy. Yay!

A couple of weekends later we were given the opportunity to take Matt to the Airshow in Belle Chasse. We had a great day and Matt has always had a huge love for anything in the sky. His amazement was priceless and we waited for the Blue Angels which was later that afternoon. Matt was able to climb in and play in aircraft that we had never seen before. Also the Raptor aircraft was there which was phenomenal with its speed and ability to handle the aeronautical maneuvers. Here are some pictures that we took.

We had a great day and our son is growing up to be so patient and enjoying the things that we do.

Easter Bunny on a Firetruck???

Yes it is true. Our Easter Bunny comes around our neighborhood riding on a firetruck. He hands out goodies to the kids that are standing out by the street in front of their houses. It's kind of fun! They hear the sirens which gives them plenty of notice and everyone races for their cameras and takes their place roadside to await the bunny atop the firetruck. He is usually escorted by a couple of other firetrucks and this is all done courtesy of our fire district. It is an age-old tradition that lives on as does the spirit of each season. (Santa rides too!) The Saturday before Easter and Christmas you can bet, they will be making their way to see the smiles on the kids faces. Thanks firemen for keeping the spirit alive!

Ski Lake Tahoe!

The trip was great! Matt was wonderful and done well with all the flights and bumbling around security. Lake Tahoe did not have the snow that we were prepared to see; it was actually kind of sad to be able to see the rocks and bushes from under the snow. The two hour time difference did create a problem with Matt's naps because just about the time things were opening, he was ready for a nap. But we conquered and overcame those problems. The first day I went skiing with Mr. Lewis (Robert's dad), Mr. Dennis, and Mr. Tom (two of Rob's dad's friends). Ms. Shannon (Rob's mom) stayed with Matt so he could get a decent nap. We had a great time and no broken or hurt anything!

On the second day I scheduled a snowmobile tour for Matt and I down in South Lake Tahoe in a National Forest. OMG!! The snow was so plentiful and deep and it snowed the entire trip on the snowmobile. I had always heard they were fun well I am here to say, IT WAS A BLAST!!! Matt grinned the entire trip pointing out trees and buildings along the way. Here are some pics from the trip. We didn't get to take too many because it was only Matt and I and we moved along pretty quickly.

There is so much more that I just can't think of off the top of my head nor do I have the time to put it in this blog. Matt and I had a great time on our first mommy/son trip!
