Ski Lake Tahoe!

The trip was great! Matt was wonderful and done well with all the flights and bumbling around security. Lake Tahoe did not have the snow that we were prepared to see; it was actually kind of sad to be able to see the rocks and bushes from under the snow. The two hour time difference did create a problem with Matt's naps because just about the time things were opening, he was ready for a nap. But we conquered and overcame those problems. The first day I went skiing with Mr. Lewis (Robert's dad), Mr. Dennis, and Mr. Tom (two of Rob's dad's friends). Ms. Shannon (Rob's mom) stayed with Matt so he could get a decent nap. We had a great time and no broken or hurt anything!

On the second day I scheduled a snowmobile tour for Matt and I down in South Lake Tahoe in a National Forest. OMG!! The snow was so plentiful and deep and it snowed the entire trip on the snowmobile. I had always heard they were fun well I am here to say, IT WAS A BLAST!!! Matt grinned the entire trip pointing out trees and buildings along the way. Here are some pics from the trip. We didn't get to take too many because it was only Matt and I and we moved along pretty quickly.

There is so much more that I just can't think of off the top of my head nor do I have the time to put it in this blog. Matt and I had a great time on our first mommy/son trip!

When will santa rest???

My poor child never gives Santa a rest! He is always playing with rudolph which sings the song "Rudolph the red nosed reindeer", yes, LUCKY ME!!! Good thing is... it is at Mi Mi's house and they have to play it over the phone to him now, lol! He constantly sings "Deck the halls" and now he thinks he is Santa by putting bubbles from the bath tub on his head and chin and scream, HO, HO, HO Merry Christmas little boy! The other thing he does that his dad taught him is to wet a wash cloth and put it over his face and say it cause it makes his voice sound deeper. YAY!!

Matthew is so excited with Valentine's Day at school. He's a chip off the ole block cause he can eat CANDY and the school has another reason to have a party and give them lots of sugar and then send 'em home. HOORAY! I told him he was going to make something very pretty probably pink or red and heart-shaped that he could bring home for me and his reply, with candy?? lol I can't win....

Oh update from the last post.... We have upgraded our bed and are awaiting the architect to finish our plans for the addition to see if we like it. YAY! Moving right along...

Matt and I have a trip next weekend to go to Lake Tahoe and let him experience the snow... Very exciting. We are bombarding on MiMi and PawPaw Lewis' trip but I think they are excited to be able to experience his first airplane ride with him and lots of snow! will write back then unless we attend a parade in the mean time....

This time of year....

Well it looks like we have officially began the new year with birthday parties almost every weekend and Matt finishing up gymnastics. We are debating whether to put him back in this session or not. He loves it jumping around and swinging from things. He knows how to pike "no room in between" and tuck as well as tumbling, waiting his turn and the beginnings of how to turn a cartwheel. Oh and who could forget, he can hold his weight up on the balance bars. Here are some of the pictures from his classes........
I have returned back to school and looks like my classes are a little easier than I had planned. Oh well, that leaves room for stuff to happen.
As if that isn't enough, we are looking to refinance/add on, buy a bigger bed and hopefully get a vacation in. Boy, do we have big dreams! Oh well, you have to start somewhere. Hopefully we can accomplish everything we want/need this year.
Will write more soon!

Dinner, Outback Style!

We had the priviledge of meeting my husband's school friend, Stephen McKenzie, his wife, Stephanie, and their two kids, Maddyson and Analyn on December 30, 2008. This is a tradition that anytime they come into town and have a spare night, we either meet them in Bogalusa or they drive to Covington and have dinner. Matthew came along as well and dinner with four adults and three kids is still feasible! The kids were well behaved (except Matthew taking down the waiter, haha) but overall everyone had a great time! Thanks, Stephen and Stephanie! We love you guys!
Here are some pictures of the kids: the first is Maddye and Matt on June 11, 2008 and the second is December 30, 2008. Maddye was born April 2006 and Matt June 2006.
Wow how they have grown!

The last two pictures are for Analyn's growth. She's the baby sister born January 2008.

Christmas 2008

We had a very blessed Christmas this year. Matthew got exactly what he wanted, a "gatorade" which meant John Deere Gator and a track hoe or excavator (yes another ride on toy) and a backhoe. It could be beacause he asked Santa (everytime he saw him, atleast six or seven times) for the same things. Could it be the repetition? Well I guess atleast when he knows what he wants he sticks with it! Robert and I invested in some home renovations and upgrades so we took Christmas very lightly for ourselves. I believe the whole gift thing is so over rated anyway. I think we are very lucky for what we have and have accomplished within our short family together. Here are some pictures from Christmas!
